This is a page where we can make notes about using the "Particle" device called the "photon."

Photon Maker Kit

We have purchased 2 "Photon Maker Kits" (https://store.particle.io/collections/shields-and-kits)

Basics

(1) Photon with Headers, (1) USB Micro B Cable, (1) Flex antenna, (1) Breadboard, (1) Proto-board, (1) Deluxe Jumper Wire Pack, (10) Male to Female Jumper Wires, and (1) Battery holder (4xAA, 2x2 with switch).

Headers

(5) 12-Pin Female Headers and (2) 40-Pin Male Breakaway Headers.

Capacitors

(10) Ceramic Capacitor 10nF, (10) Ceramic Capacitors 100nF, and (5) Electrolytic Capacitors 100uF.

LEDs and Diodes

(5) Basic LED - Red, (5) Basic LED - Green, (1) RGB LED, (6) Diode, and (1) IR LED.

Resistors

(10) Resistor 220-Ohm, (10) Resistor 1K-Ohm, (10) Resistor 10K-Ohm, (2) Photoresistors, and (1) 10K Rotary Potentiometer.

Misc Components

(1) Temperature Sensor, (1) Temperature Sensor (covered), (1) Piezo Buzzer, (3) Mini Push Buttons, (2) SPDT Switch, (1) SPDT Relay, (1) NPN Transistor, (1) PIR sensor, (1) Pancake Vibration Motor, (1) Micro Servo, and (1) Serial OLED LCD,0.96".

Photon Start up

The Photon must be connected to a local wifi initially using an iphone or Android device...yes, you can do it thru the computer, but it is not recommended and is much more involved. For instruction (as shown on the packaging) go to:

SAVE your account name and password...you will need them later to login to start programming.

Photon Programming

Once your photon is connected to the internet (ie have gone thru the "startup"), now go to the main page (http://particle.io) and on the far right top header you will see "IDE" (internet development environment)...or click here for a direct connection: https://login.particle.io/build

You will have setup an account during the startup process...
