ACS Inorganic request

The Chemistry department has requested an inorganic chemistry tenure-track position for the past 6 years. This request was initially stimulated by the department's need to cover the teaching needs in each of the five traditional subdiscipline of chemistry (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry), the growth in majors/graduates, and the rigorous research requirement. As of 2015, our accrediting agency (the American Chemical Society - ACS) revised/updated departmental requirements, now requiring we teach an introductory inorganic chemistry course and to have 5 full-time chemistry faculty.

The primary reason for the request follows: 1) Our department is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and updates to the requirements in 2015 now require 5 tenure 2) The need to support increasing departmental resources (Kieft fund, Knox fund, Summer research, Science pool, etc)
