The phenomenon in the pictures of the change of heat in the engine is due waste heat that is created by the engine. Waste heat is produced by machines that do work and processes that use energy. This need for heat as a by-product of their function is fundamental to the laws of thermodynamics. It is impossible for the engine to use all of the converted energy so the excess is released in the form of heat. The difference in heat, according to the thermal camera, was approximately 70° C.
