Qiime2 installation

Qiime2 software can be installed in multiple ways on multiple computers.
- 1) Installed "natively," meaning on a single computer like a laptop or desktop.
- 2) Installed "virtually," meaning on a server in a physically different location than the user.
PC-Windows 10
Qiime2 will run on a PC, but not in a standard "Windows" way. IT will run using a Linux command line. You will need to activate the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and install a version of Linux, generally Ubuntu. Although this software is all running from your own computer (laptop or desktop), it is really considered a virtual machine since the WIN 10 operating system is running/emulating a "virtual" Linux computer. This may seem complex but installation instructions are presented in a video linked below:
Mac
The Mac operating system is a version of Unix and the installation of Qiime2 is done using a Terminal window or command line interface.
