The movie “Absolute Zero” directed by David H. Khoch was beneficial to watch, engaging and enjoyable. The storytelling technique that was used made it easier to watch and kept the audience engaged throughout the movie. It was fascinating to learn how discovering how cold worked very long time ago was mostly based on superstitions and evilness. Also, it was exciting to know that it all started in the movie with an alchemist/magician that wanted to show people that he can change summer into winter in minutes.

The movie was talking about the history of cold and how scientists like Celsius, Fahrenheit, Faraday and Thompson helped with the improvement of the theories that they all made throughout the centuries and led us to our knowledge nowadays about cold. In this class we will be studying thermodynamics more thoroughly therefore it was beneficial to have a background about the different theories about different temperature and pressured molecules and how they came to the understanding of energy and how temperature can be used in movement and the other way around.

it was important for us to look back of how the world we live in these days started after the industrial revelation and after James Joule revolutionized the theories about energy taking more than a form of temperature, that heat or cold can be granted from movement and having movement from the use of heat or cold knowing that it is conserved. Moreover, it was very educational of how today’s most purchased food or air conditioners have the names of the people like Bird’s Eye and Willis Carrier whom helped in changing the history of cooling industry and changing our world today. So this movie was interesting and beneficial to watch and create a good informational background before we start learning thermodynamics.
