What to look for in a kitchen coordinator[modified from refernece 1]:

1) The ability to work with diverse groups of people,
2) The ability to teach, advise, listen and encourage,
3) Interest in cooking, food, and nutrition,
4) Knowledge of adult learning principles (for an overview see reference 1, Appendix C: Adult Learning Principles, page 31)
5) The ability to multi‐task and work in a busy atmosphere,
6) Knowledge of "Food" regulations, and
7) The ability to budget and manage funds.

The kitchen coordinator can help with:

1) Finding a location,
2) Putting kitchen partners in place & promoting the kitchen,
3) Assisting in establishing and maintaining harmony of the group,
4) Shopping for food & keeping a budget,
5) Keeping an inventory of supplies, organizing storage areas, etc.,
6) Planning and facilitating kitchen sessions, and
7) Ensuring health and safety practices are followed in the kitchen
