Summer 2016: Summer Opportunity for Intellectual Activity (SOfIA) with Dr. Bradley Sturgeon & Dr. Laura Moore
- Reviewed literature regarding the chemical processes associated with bread making
- Completed gluten protein extraction from various flour doughs and analyzed via SDS-PAGE
- Altered recipes to produce different flavors and reactions
- Centered research around different flour types and their correlation to different tastes in baked goods
Summer 2017: Summer Opportunity for Intellectual Activity (SOfIA) with Dr. Laura Moore & Dr. Michael Prinsell
- Was a student mentor for incoming freshman for three-week program
- Led group discussions and assisted with experiments regarding varying aromas from bread dough & baked bread
- Helped create final presentation in order to present findings to other students and faculty
- Offered guidance with final poster creation
