This image shows a beaker full of ice water (appears black with a purple outline), with my hand held above after being submerged in the water for <1 second. In the image, my fingers are no longer detected by IR imaging, because they have cooled to the point where they no longer appear in the spectra. The rest of my arm is visible, and appears in the image as red to green around the edges.

This image shows a beaker full of ice water (appears black with a purple outline), with my hand held above after being submerged in the water for <1 second. In the image, my fingers are no longer detected by the camera, because they have cooled to the point where they no longer give off enough heat to be detected by the camera when compared with the maximum heat given off by the part of my hand that was not submerged.
