Qiime2 software can be installed in multiple ways on multiple computers.

1) Installed "natively," meaning on a single computer like a laptop or desktop.
2) Installed "virtually," meaning on a server in a physically different location than the user.

PC-Windows 10

Qiime2 will run on a PC, but not in a standard "Windows" way. IT will run using a Linux command line. You will need to activate the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and install a version of Linux, generally Ubuntu. Although this software is all running from your own computer (laptop or desktop), it is really considered a virtual machine since the WIN 10 operating system is running/emulating a "virtual" Linux computer. This may seem complex but installation instructions are presented in a video linked below:
