IGOR is a software that allows the user to visualize, analyze, and export data of all different formats. IGOR is especially useful for data sets that are too extensive or complex for excel. HPLC and UV-Vis data are typically worked up in this software because of its ability to convert the data to waves. IGOR can convert CSV, ARW, EXCEL, TXT files and many more into waves.
Creating a Graph
1) Select the "Data" tab and choose "Load Waves" from the drop down menu.
2) Select "Load General Text" or whatever description matches your data set.
3) Load your data set into the software.
4) Rename the waves to make working with them within the software easier.
5) Select the "Windows" tab and choose "New Graph" from the drop down menu.
6) Select a wave or multiple waves for the Y axis and a wave for the X axis and click "Do It."
Saving a Graphic
1) Select the "Windows" tab and choose "New Layout."
2) Select the graph or table you want to save from the pop-up and click "Do It."
3) Edit the graphic as desired.
4) Select the "File" tab and choose "Save Graphics."
