Procedure to create filter:
1) Cut the bottom 30% off of a 1L bottle 2) Form teeth out of the bottom of the bottle --> the stronger the pump, the size and number of teeth increases 3) Fill the bottle about halfway with polyester filling 4) Attach the neck of the bottle to a pump that will accommodate the bottle neck 5) Place in aquarium so that the brim (with teeth) of the the bottle breaches the surface 6) Adjust height such that surface skimming occurs, but the bottle does not drain dry
How it works:
As the water is being skimmed, it is filtered through the polyester filling and then returns to the aquarium

The flow rate does not influence this filter The surface skimmer can be left in the aquarium for a long as deemed necessary --> The polyester filling should be replaced often
