October Electronic Report to the Faculty

The Faculty and Institutional Development Committee (FIDC) is responsible for reviewing and recommending policies and procedures relative to the use and development of human and financial resources of the College.

The committee does the following (see statutes, Section IV, Article 8: https://ou.monmouthcollege.edu/_resources/pdf/academics/affairs/faculty-statutes.pdf)

1) engages in conversation with administration about financial issues.
2) reviews proposals for faculty replacements, new faculty positions, and/ or faculty reductions and makes recommendations to the administration.
3) reviews and approves funding of faculty professional development proposals through the Faculty Development Fund.
4) reviews and approves funding of student travel proposals through the Student Travel Fund.
5) reviews and approves funding of non-science equipment proposals through the Non-Science Equipment Fund.
6) reviews faculty sabbaticals requests and makes recommendations to the administration.
7) reviews and approves funding of hosted public events (previously the task of Public Affairs Committee (PAC))
8) reviews policies regarding all of the above.
